WHO ARE WE ?
We are your local furcon! With the coming together of friendly faces, new and old from various different backgrounds and walks of life. Expect to see some fuzzy faces too, with people donning their furry personas (AKA Fursonas) that come to life! Explore the local scene of “what is Furry” and experience it as a creative and social endeavour.
All proceeds towards MFC will allow us to further fund events and future annual conventions for years to come, alongside donations and a helping paw towards the Dingo Discovery Sanctuary. What does this all mean? That MFE is a totally non-profit venture!
GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY
Our chosen local charity to support and raise much needed funds for is the Australian Dingo Foundation!
The Australian Dingo Foundation is a not-for-profit organization established to promote the conservation of the dingo (Canis dingo) as a species, and to help maintain biodiversity in Australian ecosystems. Among other activities, it provides support to the Dingo Discovery Sanctuary to preserve a captive pure dingo population for possible future re-introductions, facilitate non-invasive research and help educate the public about the species and its serious plight. The wellbeing of the sanctuary animals is paramount to both organisations,and many inmates of the sanctuary are rescue dingoes, but neither exist as animal welfare establishments.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Photo Identification is a MUST for registration validation.
There's no minimum age requirements, However parental supervision is required for children under the age of 18. Con staff reserve the right to ask for valid Photo Identification with a Date of Birth.
Who can attend Melbourne Furry Convention?
MFC is an all-ages convention. Please note that minors (under 18) must to be accompanied by an adult.
Can I plan events or activities inside?
Our con is focused on building a sense of community. If you want to plan any activities in our con space, please let us know of any ideas and we can see if we can fit you in somewhere.
Can we plan to do activities outside the space?
Feel free to to do so, Melbourne is a great city to explore!
Am I allowed to record videos and take pictures?
It is allowed as long as you have consent of all parties recorded. However, recording for business-related/professional use outside of MFE is not permitted without approval.
What can I bring into the event?
Is it legal in Public? if not, you cannot bring it.
Fursuits and Furry paraphernalia are allowed.
Collars are Allowed, but please no leashes.
No Harnesses or other fetish gear are to be visible in con spaces.
MFE Has a zero tolerance policy on illicit substances.
MFE Does NOT permit Alcohol on premises.
MFE Staff and logistics withhold the right to revoke registration.
What's the refund policy?
You may request a refund up to 7 days before the event.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, but please have your Barcode available on your phone or other device for quicker service.
Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?
Yes, you can transfer your convention registration any time up to 24 Hours before the convention start date.
Is it ok if the name on my registration doesn't match the person who attends?
Yes. In fact, we have a Preferred Name field in the registration details!
However please use the name on your ID in the "Buyer Information" section.
